Old Cars in the Neighborhood

Yesterday, I was driving through the neighborhood and came across few old classic cars. Two of them were from the same house and there is almost always a classic car in various stages of restoration parked out front. Normally, when the cars are parked out front I do not have my camera or I am in a hurry and can’t stop to take pictures. But yesterday, I was a few minutes ahead of schedule so I was able to stop and take some quick pictures. Hopefully, I will be able to go back when it isn’t so bright out and take some better shots.

While driving down the road these two cars caught my attention. When I saw these beauties, I new I had to stop and take some pictures. From a distance these cars look good, but up close they look even better.

My favorite car is the 1930s Custom 2 Door Chevrolet Hotrod. It painted up in two-tone primer, just might you would see in the 1950s and 60s custom hotrods. 1930s Custom 2 Door Chevrolet Hotrod

One of the things I love about these old hotrods is the open engine design. But it only looks good if you got a lot of chrome and massive roots style super charger and blower sitting in the engine compartment. This engine looks good but its needs a little more work to make it shine.

Parked in front of the old hotrod is beautifully restored 1959 Impala Sedan. I have seen this car around a few times, but never this close. I am not a big fan of these sedans but I do love the fins on these old cars.

Across the street from the old Impala is its younger sister, a 1965 Chevrolet Impala in of restoration. Its not an SS model. But this would make a good cruiser project and I would love to see what the owner does with it.

As you can see the interior is in need of a little work. But surprisingly its in good shape for its age. Its in way better shape than my old 1969 Chevelle was.
