450+ Photographers to Follow on Google Plus

Earlier this week Google Plus made it possible to share friend circles. Because of this new feature, everyone is sharing their groups. On the first day of release, people were sharing so much it was almost like spam. But it has slowed down a lot and I did find a lot of great people to follow.

Google Plus, A Social Network for Photographers

Since opening up Google Plus to everyone, the network has seen a huge surge in new users. Of those users, you will find a large amount of professional bloggers, social media addicts, and photographers.  Several professional bloggers have even shut down their Facebook profiles and even shut down their blogs (not recommended for everyone) and I can see why.

For me, I have a limited amount of time budgeted for social media, and I noticed lately, most of my time goes to Google Plus and Twitter. Both are my best referrers to my main blog.  But my favorite place to post, browsing and posting is on Google Plus.

For photographers, this site is set up for photographers. You can post unlimited high-resolution images. This means you can upload your portfolio Picasa via Google Plus for free! You can’t do this on other social media photo sharing sites without having to pay for it.

How to Find Followers on Google Plus

If you are new to Google Plus or just looking for new people to add to your circles, it can be hard to find those new people to follow. There are a few sites that you can use find more Google Plus users via keyword searches. They work great, but you really don’t know what you get this way.

I found the best way to find users was by following users from your circles. This way is a little more time-consuming, but you can get to know people better and follow those you like.

Another way to find users is still very new but it works great. You can find new users when one of your followers shares their circles. When this happens, you will have access to that shared circle. You can view those in the circle or you can save the circle as your own.

Once you save it, it’s up to you to get them to follow you back.
