Random Picture of the Week #2 – The Baker Hotel

This week’s random image was taken on a road trip to Mineral Wells, Texas back in June 2013. My wife and I took a road trip from Anna, Texas to Mineral Wells, Texas. For one of our trips we visited the abandoned Baker Hotel. Although I haven’t posted recent pictures from that part of the road trip, I have been working on processing the images and will post them as I complete each set.

So until I am ready to post more images of the Baker, here is a preview image from that set of images.

The Baker Hotel

About this Image

One of my favorite places to visit is the Baker Hotel. Even as this old building lies dormant waiting for a new owner to love her as much as Mr. Baker once did, you can still see the elegance this building once was.

For this image, I shot it with a Canon EOS Rebel T1i just before dark. I then  processed the image with Adobe Lightroom and post processed the image with Topaz Labs Clarity and lightened the dark colors and shadows. I then added a light vignetting to take away some of the texture from the background.
