Random Image of the Week #56: Orange-spotted Tiger Clearwing Butterfly Spotted at the Butterfly Palace in Branson, Missouri
This week’s random image is of the Orange-spotted Tiger Clearwing Butterfly that I spotted at the Butterfly Palace in Branson, Missouri.
The Butterfly Palace in Branson, Missouri
Back in September work sent me to Branson, MO for the week. On the morning I had to start my drive back to Dallas, I decided to visit the Butterfly Palace. It was the perfect time to catch the butterflies at feeding time. During feeding they are normally more active and when they are feeding you can catch that perfect shot of a butterfly feeding or stretching its wings.
The Butterfly Palace is a nice little butterfly house with a rain-forest theme. Along with the butterfly house, they have several other small displays and information about the rainforest.
It’s a fun little place and worth the stop if you have children who love insects or if you are photographer. Just make sure to bring a fast telephoto long lens and tripod/monopod to help steady your shot.

The Orange-spotted Tiger Clearwing also known as the Disturbed Tigerwing can found in Mexico to the Amazon Rain-forest.
About the Image
I shot this image in a sunny and bright room with my Sony NEX-3N and a Sony SEL55210mm 4.5-6.3 OSS Lens during the early morning hours by hand. I then edited it in Adobe Lightroom. Next, I post processed with Topaz Clarity to add texture, bright the image, and bring out the details in the image. Then removed the dust spots and rain spots. I then used Topaz DeNoise to remove the noise from the image.
