The Dealey Plaza Fountain at Night

City Hall Plaza Fountain

When the Dallas City Hall was designed with a two block plaza along with a 180-foot diameter fountain pool, green areas, and sculptures. And one day back in 1984 the fountain was used by Dallas Citizens as a wading pool.

Last Friday night I happened to be near downtown Dallas and had my camera gear with me and decided to see if some of the places I wanted to shoot were deserted and waiting to be shot. Normally I do not even try to shoot downtown on Fridays and Saturday nights because the night life makes almost impossible to get that perfect shot.

Since all my spots were busy with locals and tourist having fun, I decided to hit up the City Hall Plaza. Normally this plaza is busy during the day, but at night, most pass it by. I stayed there for about thirty minutes.

During that time, I took several several different shots before I needed to head home and the above shot was one of the better ones that came out.

Next time I’m out, I hope to reshoot this location again. There several more shots I want to get.

About the Image

This  image was shot at night with a Nikon D5000 and Nikon 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G VR Nikkor Lens. This was a long exposure shot using a tripod. I used Adobe Lightroom CC to clean up the image and bring out the color of the lights in the background.
