Random Picture of the Week #59: Kansas City Southern Evening Train Passing Through Greenville, Texas
This week’s random image is from a recent photowalk of downtown Greenville, Texas and its of the Kansas City Southern evening train passing through Greenville, Texas as I’m heading to my car.
Kansas City Southern Evening Train Passing Through Greenville, Texas
The Kansas City Southern is smallest and the second oldest Class 1 railroad company still in operation. It was found in 1887 and is operating in ten central states.
In the DFW area I see the Kansas City Southern trains pass all the time but never up close and always from the car.
The above image was just luck. I happened to be heading to my car and the train was just coming into view so I changed direction to move a little closer the train to get the shot. I wasn’t fast enough to catch the front of the train clearly but this was the second shot and it came out well.
About the Image
The image was shot by hand late in the afternoon with the sun backlighting the train with my Sony Nex-3N and a Sony SEL16F28 16mm f/2.8 lens. I then edited the image in Adobe Lightroom. Next, I post processed with Topaz Clarity to add texture, brighten, and bring out the details in the image. Then I removed the dust spots. Finally, I used Topaz DeNoise to remove the noise from the image.
