This week\u2019s random image is of a White Prickly Poppy that can be found through the more arid regions of Texas.<\/p>\n

\"White<\/a><\/p>\n

White Prickly Poppy, Argemone albiflora<\/b><\/i><\/h3>\n

The Aregemone albiflora<\/em> also known as the White Prickly Poppy is a small erect delicate white flower with a yellow center. It is known for its sharp prickles on the stems and leaves.<\/p>\n

As I mentioned before, it grows in the arid regions of Texas. They are mostly found in the southern Midwest along the roadsides and over grazed farm\/ranch land.<\/p>\n

Where to Find the White Prickly Poppy<\/h3>\n

I first saw the white Prickly Poppy in small numbers heading west towards Glen Rose, Texas and further southwest. But I saw them mostly in the Hill Country around Marble Falls, Texas<\/a> and past Llano, Texas<\/a> and they were just popping out. I saw them along the back roads and overgrown fields and look forward to seeing fields full of them this summer.<\/p>\n

The little guy pictured above, I found near the Bluebonnet House<\/a> in Marble Falls, Texas. It was one of few White Prickly Poppies that were just starting to bloom.<\/p>\n

About the Image<\/h3>\n

This image was shot just before a large storm system came into the area. The shot was taken using a tripod with my Sony Nex-3N<\/a> and a Sony SEL55210mm 4.5-6.3 OSS Lens<\/a>. I then edited the image in Adobe Lightroom<\/a>. To remove some of the noise I used Topaz DeJEP<\/a> (I normally shoot in RAW). Next, I post processed with Topaz Clarity<\/a> to add texture, brighten, and bring out the details in the image. Then I removed the dust spots. Finally, I used Topaz DeNoise<\/a> to remove the noise from the image.<\/p>\n
