<\/a><\/p>\nAbandoned Upright Piano Found in Southern Kansas<\/h3>\n
While out doing some rural exploration in Southern Kansas I came across a strangely shaped abandoned farm house just off the road with hay bails along side of the house.<\/p>\n
When I approached the house I noticed it looked more like an old church or maybe an old community meeting hall. But I couldn\u2019t find any evidence that it wasn\u2019t anything more than just an old house. No signs or what\u2019s left of an old sign when its removed.<\/p>\n
After pulling up to the house and looking over the exterior I noticed that it was a one room building without a bathroom or kitchen. So now I\u2019m thinking this house isn\u2019t old enough to have an out house? It should at least have a toilet and sink. Where is it? There must have been an out house somewhere near by.<\/p>\n
With the back door wide open, I went inside to find the drop ceiling metal skeleton with a few remaining rotting ceiling tiles hanging on and building material decay laying on the rotting wood floors. Next to the old stage sits the an old abandoned upright piano covered in bird and rat crap waiting for some to play her again\u2026<\/p>\n
The Abandoned Upright\u2019s Piano Condition<\/h3>\n
Let\u2019s face it, just by the image you can tell that the piano is in bad shape. Its basically a bio hazard issue and you really shouldn\u2019t touch it. The crap is covering the piano and everything in the room. The guts are damaged and most of the of wood has water damage. It\u2019s a total lost.<\/p>\n
Final Thoughts<\/h3>\n
I love old pianos and I hate to see them ending up this way. But at the same time, I also like finding them in abandoned places. In my time exploring abandoned places, this is the third one I have seen left behind. But this one is in the worst shape.<\/p>\n
About the Image<\/h3>\n
The image was shot by hand with my Sony Nex-3N<\/a> and a Sony SEL16F28 16mm f\/2.8<\/a>. I then edited the image in Adobe Lightroom<\/a>. Next, I post processed with Topaz Clarity<\/a> to add texture, brighten, and bring out the details in the image. Then I removed the dust spots. Finally, I used Topaz DeNoise<\/a> to remove the noise from the image.<\/p>\n
