Random Picture of the Week #58: Left Behind – Abandoned Ornate Radiator
This week’s random image of the week is from a lucky find during a documentation of a long time abandoned hotel in West Texas.
Abandoned Ornate Radiator
As I walked around the abandoned hotel, I found that it was mostly home to rodents and birds. Other than that, the place was stripped of everything of value by the owners, previous owners, scrappers, and vandals over the years. The lobby was actually so clean of debris and stripped of décor that it looked like a vacant recently cleaned warehouse.
Then I came across an abandoned radiator. At first I thought it was a simple radiator until I took a second look and notice it wasn’t just an every day radiator. Its an abandoned ornate radiator that someone left behind.
I was pleasantly surprised to see it still in place and waiting to be used. What is more surprising is how this got overlooked. But hopefully it will be left until someone finds the funds to restore or repurpose this old building.
Please do not ask where this is, it will remain a private location to preserve what is left of the building.
About the Image
I shot this image with my Sony NEX-3N and a Sony SEL55210mm 4.5-6.3 OSS Lens during the early afternoon with natural lighting. I then edited it in Adobe Lightroom. Next I post processed with Topaz Clarity to add texture, bright the image, and bring out the details in the image. Then I removed the dust spots and rain spots. I then used Topaz DeNoise to remove the noise from the image.
