Are you fed-up with all those old-school SEO tips and techniques that are not working anymore? Do you think that you are doing everything you can, but yet the results are not encouraging?
If this is the case, then let me tell you where the problem might be. Yes, you might be using all the SEO tricks up your sleeves, but most of the methods have lived their lives and are not effective anymore.
See, Google is continually updating its algorithm and search engine. Its parameters to rank web pages are evolving as well. As those parameters change, so are the SEO techniques. For example, in the past, keyword stuffing was considered a crucial SEO technique. Now we know that it’s not necessary. Strategically placing your keyword is the better way to optimize your content.
So to rank high on SERP, you not only have to optimize your content and website, but you also have to do so using the most effective and recent SEO techniques.
Some of the SEO novices might say that these are simple tips but don’t believe them. I’ve used these tips and ranked thousands of websites in the past few years. Believe me, every tip that I’ve listed down worked like a charm.
They have worked for me, so they’ll work for you too if you follow them. Here are the four modern-day SEO techniques to drive your business to the top of search result pages:
1. Add primary keywords to opening para, title, and descriptions
Ask any SEO experts, and they will be able to talk for hours regarding the importance of using keywords in your text. But, if you need some practical advice, add those keywords in the opening paragraph of your text.
This will provide you with certain benefits. When you place keywords right in the first paragraph, it will be easy for Google to know what your content is all about. Moreover, when users start searching for those keywords, your website will show up first. And, when the searched keywords are highlighted in search queries, it catches attention.
Let’s look at an example from search results. Here “SEO Expert” is the keyword and how it is used in the title, the first paragraph, and the preceding paragraph.
Do the keyword research and place those keywords at the top for users and Google search to see and rank your website higher in the search results.
2. Delete Zombie pages
Google algorithm is now focused more on the quality of the content that is presented to users. Not every page on your website is giving away traffic. Those pages that are just there and don’t get any traffic are called “Zombie pages.”
Word of the wise: delete those Zombie pages. They are not bringing traffic to you website. Instead, they are hurting your rankings on the pretext of being unable to provide any value to the users.
Even Google stated that “stronger pages rank faster than smaller pages.”
So, if you delete those small pages, your ranking will automatically improve. I’ve tried this strategy for my previous startup. It was an e-commerce gifting store, and it worked amazingly well for it.
3. Get traffic from already successful blogs
Check your analytics and see which of the blogs on your website are successful. USE any SEO tool and search keywords related to those blogs. These are the blogs that are popular among your readers.
There are tons of ways to generate traffic, but this is one of the most advanced SEO strategies that people fail to understand. Those blogs/content which is already getting traffic has a higher chance of giving you more sales.
What you can do is to take those blogs and repurpose them by adding new details and relevant keywords. The central theme will be the same, but with just a little variation, you can give a new perspective to the blog.
For instance, when I was working freelance for an SEO agency, I wrote a blog titled “Top 14 business ideas”. It made to the top of SERPs. We chose this topic randomly, but when it ranked, the agency told me to create three similar blogs.
I increased the length of the blog to around “47 business ideas,” and amazingly, it got ranked in the top ten too.
To put things in perspective, if there are pages or products which are already popular, people will want more of that. And when you start driving more traffic from trending topics, it will be easy for Google to rank your website.
4. Link to authority websites
Everyone loves backlinks. If you are willing to rank higher and get more traffic on your website, backlinks are a sure-shot way to get you everything that you need.
Start guest posting on high-authority websites. When you are linked with high-domain websites, Google will consider your website worthy and reputable. Once your website gets listed in the top ten results of Google, it will be easy to get traffic and generate sales from that traffic.
But the thing to remember is to create quality content because it is not just the backlinks you get. It is the brand image that you create in the eyes of the readers.
Recently, I was researching popular backlinking techniques that are producing results for businesses. I came across a blog by a White Label SEO Agency – Growth Proton. In the blog, they mentioned a technique that could help you secure quality links in no time.
Basically, what they said was that if you have a website for a long time, then you must have done a lot of link building and link acquisition campaigns. However, you might have made changes to your website theme, pages, and structure over time. Due to that, some of those links might have been broken.
Now the links are there, but they are of no use to you. So what you can do is to analyze your website (using tools like Ahref) to find those broken links and redirect them to your active pages.
When you do that, these links will start passing traffic to those pages, and their rankings will increase accordingly.
Voila! You didn’t have to request any site to give you a backlink. You just analyzed your own website, found broken links, redirected them, and aced link building.
Bottom line
Finally, it all comes down to creating quality content. Because it is not just Google that demands quality content, but the users as well. They want information that can benefit them.
You must begin everything by focusing on quality. If the quality of the content is up to the mark, there will be backlinks; there will be users sharing your blogs/products with their friends.
You just need to begin by vigorously following these tips one by one, and the best part of these tips is that they will give results sooner.
You don’t have to worry about if the strategy will work or not for your business because I’ve used these tips for several businesses, and they worked fine for every single one of them.
