When it comes to having a successful website, it not only takes good and regularly updated content, you also need a great design that works with your content. To get that great design, most modern websites use content management systems (CMS) to administrate and to change their site’s design with minimal difficulty.
These types of systems makes it easy for those that do not have the design skills or the budget to create a killer design for their sites.
For a CMS, I always recommend Worpress, it’s any easy to use system that can be used for small individual websites or for large corporations needing a variety of custom touches their in-house developers can create for them.
One of the drawbacks to WordPress, is it is limited in features and design. But this drawback is what makes WordPress so great. Because of the limited features and design, the WordPress community stepped up, by offering custom themes and plugins to make your WordPress driven site complete.
WordPress Themes
There are plenty of free and premium WordPress themes out there. For a new blogger or a new site just starting out, a free theme might be the way to go. But only get your free themes from the WordPress Directory or from premium sites offering free themes.
There are a lot of sites out there that are stealing premium themes and creating free themes that are full bad and malicious code that will harm your site and your brand. When you download a themes from the WordPress Directory, they check out all the themes submitted and only list those they consider safe for use.
With premium themes, most high end premium theme companies will go through great lengths to offer only the best code and user friendly themes for your use.
Why Studiopress
As for choosing a premium theme, I always recommend Studiopress before any other premium theme. Their premium framework, is powerful, well coded, and their community grousp are always reading to help you sort out any issues you may have with Studiopress.
This site and several others I manage run off Studiopress’ Genesis Framework. For more information about Studiopress and to view some of their tutorial videos, check out Studiopress 101.
