16 Background Colors to Choose From!

As with most squeeze and product page themes, you are limited to what the theme creators offers. Usually one or two skin colors, but the over look and feel of the pages have the same look and feel (this is my opinion, not a fact). With Thesis Product Skin, you get 16 back grounds to choose from on the the product pages and 2 schemes for the blogging system. You can easily change the colors of the product pages and the blog any time you want through the skin option panel with one click!

If you want to create your own custom background, ThesisAwesome included the PSD file so you can create your own background color. Then to add your new background, just upload it via the WordPress Media Library and then tell the product skin option panel where to look for your new background.

iPhone and iPad Support

A lot of sites do not provide support for iPad/iPhones. For those sites that want support for iPhone/iPad users they would have to purchase a mobile theme or use a plugin that adds support for mobile users. Using the slide show is easy. Its configured through the options panel and it automatically uses articles from your blog. So all you have to do is create a special category for those articles you want to display in the slide show and select that category and the slide show will automatically add your new article to the show. Once its setup, all you have to worry about is what articles you want to showcase.

Another great feature of the Product Skin is its quality call to action buttons. The CTA buttons are as important as the design of your site. So with that in mind, Product Skin created a great looking set of CTA buttons that have the “trigger words” that they will convert.

Final Thoughts

I am a big fan of Thesis and I have been playing with both Thesis and several other themes for the last few weeks. I have come to the believe that Thesis is the way to go. But this theme isn’t for beginners and there have been several times that I stopped and scratched my head trying to figure things out when it comes to Thesis and its features. If you are not a designer or a coder, then purchasing a premium Thesis Skin is a must. Out of all the premium skins offered, ThesisAwesome is my choice for thesis Skins. Not only do they provide a professional and elegant design, but they offer features that every premium WordPress Theme should have.

As for the Product Skin, I love it and I have plans to use it on several projects and I am seriously thinking about changing Evolutionary Designs after some custom touches to the Product Skin. I know it doesn’t have some of the killer art designs that some of the graphic design and photoblogs may have, but for the professional looking to market there products or business, this is the perfect skin.

My Product Skin Example Site

Since I was given an early copy for testing and reviewing, I created a test site to test it and see what the Product Skin was all about. Installing and configuring the Product skin didn’t take to long. If you already have Thesis setup and configured, then installing the Product skin only takes a few minutes.

As for the configuration and building of the Product page, it took about an hour or two. But that was because I didn’t have my logos, content and overall product to sell figured out. So I recreated ThesisAwesome’s demo page to see how fast it would take if I had all my content and images ready. I figured out quickly that using the drag and drop widgets work great and once I figured out what each special widget does, I was able create a product page in less than thirty minutes.
