One of the things I like about Google Plus is they are trying to build a great user experience for everyone. They are adding new features and refining features that have issues.
One of the features that I like is the ability to format your Google Plus statuses. Although formatting of status updates isn’t a new idea, surprisingly not all social networks allow us to format them.
Even though Google Plus doesn’t have fancy formatting buttons like you might find on a forum or blog editor, Google does allow you bold, italicize, and do a strike through to the font when creating a status update.
Google Plus Status
To add formatting to your status updates, follow the examples below
- To bold, add a * before and after the word(s) you want to bold
- To italicize, add _ before and after the word(s) you want to italicize
- To Strike Through a word(s), add – before and after the word(s) want to strike through.
Google Plus Status Formatting
For example you set your status like this.
Hi guys did you here what *John Doe* said about blank? He said _blah, blah, blah-. He is one –nutty- creepy guy.

Thanks for the tips, finally got myself on to Google+ so this is going to be useful, when I really start to get in to the flow of using it 😉
Hi Karen ,
Your Welcome! Google Plus network takes a little to get use to it. But once you get use to it, you will see its potential.
