Recently I wrote about building links through social media sites. One of the sites I had mentioned, I did not go into much detail. Several people have asked me about the site and what is it all about. So today, I thought I would go into more detail about the site.
What is DesignGizer?
DesignGizer was created by Hesham of Famous Bloggers, and is your window into the design world. Not only is DesignGizer a site where you can find design resources, but its a place where designers and design fans can get together and vote on what is hot and what is not.
Hesham put this site together to help design bloggers get their brand know to everyone. He has design the site to be a DoFollow and will market your site submission through several different social media sharing sites for you. He even makes it easier for the users to vote your submission on different sites with links to other social media sites on the same page as your link.
Final Thoughts
I have been using DesignGizer since the site when live. The site has made many changes for the better over the last few months and its only getting better. All though the site is still very new and has a limited number of people submitting links, it get a good amount of guest traffic looking for design resources. Because of the amount of traffic the site gets, and you come up with eye catching titles and descriptions for your submissions, you will get more traffic back to your site.
Recently, Hesham made a change to the voting system due spammers trying to take advantage of the fact that when you submit your article it goes to page one right a way. Because of this, Hesham changed the voting rules, now you have to receive three votes to get to the first page. If you are already using the site or new to the site, get your friends to join and start voting on each other’s submissions. If you help others out, they will help you out.
Nice idea for a site, will stay tunned to see if it goes viral 🙂
DesignGizer is a great bookmarking site, its still a new site. But does get a lot of traffic. It just needs more users…
DesignGizer must be good since Hesham is behind it. Thanks for the info, it will be useful for my blogging tips blog. 🙂
I have recently looked into building a social news site and explored some of these sites.
DesignGizer is based on Drupal combined with Drigg plugin and is very straight forward and user friendly.
I also like its design.
