Recently Hootsuite released their new version of their Twitter client Hootsuite5. In this version they made a lot of changes for the good of the client. One of the new features is the integration of Google Analytics. This feature is going to be asset to any web designer, SEO consultant, and anyone who maintains a website that needs know traffic trends on their site.
How to Install Google Analytics
Setup is easy, all you need to do is activate and give Hootsuite permission to access Google Analytics. The first thing you need to do is to activate Analytics. To do this is click on the Owl Launch Button >>> Stats >> Site Analytics >>> Connect to Google Analytics >> Grant Access to popup
Once you got that up, you can now access the analytics and see a lot of different reports. Not all of the tools are on here, but you have a lot reports you can generate that are helpful and related to Twitter, referral and organic traffic, and several other test I find to be helpful when I need to figure out my traffic details at the end of the month.
Final Thoughts
I haven’t been using the Google Analytics through Hootsuite for very long, but so far, it works great and it saves me time. Because of the integration, I do not have to open up the actual site all that often now. As I use this tool more, I will go into more detail about the use of this tool and how well it works for what I need.
What are your thoughts? Are using this tool yet?
Nice stuff — added to a news round-up post to share with users.
Thanks for stopping by and adding this post to the list. I am really digging the new Hootsuite client.
James, I haven’t added GA to HootSuite yet, I’ll give it a try and let you know what I think of it.
Its worth it. It gives you a lot of info very quickly. I did find some issues when trying to load it with Google Chrome. Bu that might be worked out since it was loading fine yesterday…
This is pretty cool and I actually didn’t notice this when doing my video tutorial of the new Hootsuite, I will be checking it out shortly.
Justin, it is cool. I so far I find it to be helpful, but I still have to log into Google to check the full stats.
Hi James, Hootsuite really is impressing me lately. It looks great with stats integrated into it 🙂
I am utterly pleased by all the new features that has been added to Hootsuite. It would be nice, to see in future addition, to have the option of adjusting the size of columns
Hey James, I am thinking of switching to HootSuite from TweetDeck and was reading on some of the features. I have a question about this though. Is this available for both free and paid users or just those who have monthly subscription?
Hello James, I haven’t yet tried HootSuite but the features your showed are great. I want to know if it is stable now when you use it with Google Chrome. I am worried that it will slow down if this will be added. Thanks.
